Polly Nunn

Polly Holden Nunn received a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from James Madison University in 1980, with a painting and drawing concentration. She then worked as a graphic artist for advertising agencies and later an outdoor design company.

This scale and boldness influenced the acrylic paintings she was working on at home.  Polly enlarged her flowers as much as fifteen times their original size and created an illusion of great space and depth. The bold, brilliant colors on large canvases lead the viewer into Nunn's flowers to explore the intricate detail of the petals and shadows.

Polly Nunn moved to Williamsburg 1986, and pursued a fine arts career.  She has exhibited her work in Nevada and many different galleries, art shows, businesses and homes throughout Virginia. In addition to painting flowers, Polly paints murals, portraits, and works in clay. She teaches classes and workshops in acrylic painting, pastel, and clay sculpture.
