Edwin L. Green
Primarily a ‘plein air’ painter living near Williamsburg, Virginia, Green spent his youth in South Carolina where early painting experiences were mostly of Edisto Island’s beaches and vast marshes or on backpacking trips to the mountains of western North Carolina.
With an advanced degree in Classics, formal art training was acquired variously in France in Nice and at the Universities of Dijon and Montpelier, as well as the core program at Virginia Commonwealth University.
Twelve years living aboard a sailboat afforded opportunities to paint ‘plein air’ worldwide, as did hiking the Appalachian and Long Trails and biking the Oregon Trail and across France. In winter Charleston, SC and Key West lure him away as does the coast of Maine in summer. Look for him painting about Williamsburg You are always welcome to look over his shoulder.
