Mary Montague Sikes: Animal Art
Artists frequently work in series or repetition as drill for their artistic skills. Mary Montague Sikes has been inspired by animals, especially wild ones, for many years and she turned this fascination into a series of paintings created to include the twenty six letters of the alphabet.
Mary Montague Sikes:Animal Alphabet is the show that will be on exhibition at Prince George Art & Frame from 5:30pm November 1 until November 30, 2013. Monti’s joy in painting both cuddly and fierce creatures is apparent in this show.
“This show will demonstrate Sikes affection for animals as well as her discipline in connecting each animal with a letter in the alphabet” says gallery owner Fred Miller.
Please join us for the opening reception from 5:30pm -7:30pm on Friday November 1, 2013 and remain on display through November 30, 2013. The public is invited, the artist will be available to discuss the work and refreshments will be served.
The artist will also be in the gallery on Saturday November 2nd 1:00pm – 3pm demonstrating her painting techniques.
